I do love, and live
to be there
for those who seek
my counsel or my care
a shoulder or empathic ear
Yet, I confess,
in weary moments
I cannot help but wish
there were a greater heart
that would let me lean, a little,
rest awhile
upon a stronger arm;
Who'd understand me
in a second – but
such wistful moments pass
As they will, as they must.
For I shall do what
Love wills,
as I must
Because
I can

I hope that you get many strong arms now and in the future.
You deserve them for all that you've been through.
You deserve so much Gennelle.
You deserve love, and to be loved. You deserved to be spoiled.
You deserve all of that and so much more that I can't even express.
If only the world could view you as I can they wouldn't let go of you.
They would be that strong arm for you so you can breathe.

OMG. I know EXACTLY what this feels like. I have been going through this really heavily for the last two years, and it seems the more I try to pull myself up the more I go under. I spend so long being the leaning post for others... they become so dependant sometimes I think they forget occasionally it needs to go both ways. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful write with me. I thought I was alone in feeling like that. It's nice to know I am not as insane as I have been feeling I was. <3333

Sighhh...Ahhh, yes, Gennelle...I should like a strong Heart & the arms to go with it, too...This is a lovely penning, my Friend...filled with Grace, Wisdom & Understanding...Reminds me of the song by Bill Withers: "We all need somebody to lean on." Thanks for sending me the link, my Friend...I needed that cyberhug about now...

that on pretty much hit home.

There is a greater heart that lets me lean, and the closer I stand to him, the farther his arms reach around me.
We all get tired, especially when we are doing too much. (Yes, I know this is old.)

This is a real dose of strength. It deserves to be hanging as a plaque(?) in people's homes. Very beautiful. In fact that would be a good way to sell all your poetry- cross stitching them ect.

Thank you for your insight and understanding, that is it!

Ahhhh, I see what you mean. You have been there, done that also. Being admonished to "be ye not weary in well doing," serves to encourage, yet it does not prevent those fleeting moments of shameful self-reflection. Shameful because, He did go all the way to the cross even after a fitful night of pleading, "If there be any other way..." To conclude, as did He, "but not my will, but thine be done," takes us to a higher plain. An excellent use of the gift your have benn bestowed!

i know exactly how you feel it is hard to strong all the time and sometimes it would be nice to go to someone stronger and thankfully we can

I read your words, and you open the Word for me ...
Thank you, Gennelle.

He
who lives inside you
shall replenish you
with Living Water
even though it may only be
a drop
soothing your mind ...
and you shall be strengthened
to pour out Love
a gushing Waterfall
from the River above

What a beautiful response from the all poetry poets! I identify with these sentiments here and wish for you that you meet one you can follow your truth with; one who grows alongside you, offering all you give.

If arms are strong in cyberspace
I shall be strong for you
If spirit last in tiny bits
I'll try to see you through
And if the dust that make the stars
is free for me to form
I shall be forming one more star
to guide through the storm
And I shall offer you my heart
it isn't much I know
but if a tiny heart can help
I hope the star will show
Maatkara, do you see the star
I made it just for you
You do not have to answer now
but make one for me too

There is always that need to be renewed. To be treasured, to become a polished gem. While one may give of themselves, it is only right they be replinished. I hope you have someone in your life..(or many someones) that help you in tht way. I hope you have your love. Breathtakingly beautiful.

For I shall
do what
Love wills,
as I must
Because
I can
singing so sweetly
I feel your gentle feelings
drown in nature's touch
thus your soul sustains much grief
your heart shall bear spring's rebirth

Lovely
Hi Gennelle:
Such a lovely and compassionate write. A mere mention of help, I'm sure many would give. So you lean as you will, for we won't let you fall. A very beautiful sentiment in this write. Thank you for sharing your generousity. Bill -
True Art From the Heart!
Gennelle,
This is so sadly written. Yes you are a strong spirit but you are not invincible. I've had some dreary times too, but G. I'm always here for you. As much as you've helped me, I owe you but above that, I really admire the person you are. Being too empathetic for others can leave you somewhat bothered at the quietness you face. I'm your friend because you first became mine. I bet many here feel the same way I do. Once again, a fine write and a pleasing read. God bless his best to you.

Thank you for your kind comments, Margaret, I really appreciate that
I was hoping this wouldn't sound too peculiar. Just having a melancholy moment or two.

Effective
Indeed, there is a reason that some are stronger, and that is to help those who are weaker. However, we are all weak at times, and rest is due to everyone who works. Jesus frequently desired to be alone.
Your poem is gently reasonable and clear. There are so many words about fatigue that I feel some of it.
