People

assholes
nowadays
only
i

Author notes
Maybe I should put this little rant into perspective...after three years and still fighting with the bureacrcy of a hospital (people are so nervous because they think that they cannot fight the system) I refuse to be held back by discriminatory, god-like people who think that they are better than me or that because I am on social assistance and living with HIV that my life is less than theirs. It has been a long and tiring fight to get this operation, but the walls of assholes are always there to be pushed over, and then the shit hits the fans, hate to be the maid in this corridor when that happens.

Hey!!!!!
I agree too....
Some are real meanies!!
Love ya... Cindy -
short, sadonic and to the point and perhaps...you are correct in that assumption...for me..I just blow it off and go on with my life..doing the best I can to deal with the beauracracy...hang in there...freda

It's okay, jump on the rant with me, the more the merrier and maybe one day we can get rid of assholes, but sometime we need them

NOWADAYS??????
I find that to be true....but as always...not nowadays.
I know you fighting the hard fight....but even little fights....people can be such....a pain in the ass. I have to fight for every little thing for my daughter, even the things that are her "rights". I read it in the paper that says, "These are your childs rights" and when I try to enforce those rights, I have to fight for them. Grrrrrrr. Sorry...this is your rant....I am just jumping on the asshole bandwagon .... cause I agree.

VENT ON GREGG!!! I agree with you.. just because someone has things less than others... doesn't make them any less of a person. I've had to do the whole welfare part.. and I would always feel so ashamed that I had to pay for food with foodstamps. People just stare at you and give awful looks when they see you pull them out. It's a shame that some think they're so much better than others. You, my friend.. are no different from me, you're a human as I am.. and a maker of wonderful poetry. I enjoy you ..and I'd never think any different

You know there are so many people going to Church these days, where does the Church go during the week. They seem to not take it home with them. Or else they don't listen while they are there. I think for many it is just a show for them. I am glad you wrote this and posted it, short but so full of emotions. thank you.

UGH! just read your comment because otherwise I would seriously apply this poem to pretty much everyone I know - including me! hehe As for hospitals! they suck. they smell and they ARE full of shit! you should try the government hospitals in SA. That is not to slag all of them but 99% of them are bloody awful, useless and just plain annoying! If you don't have med aid you're a nothing. I can almost understand what you're going through - only I cannot relate with the HIV status. Still the feeling is there and I can sympathise - good rant!!!

lol@ you. You don't let go of that humor do you? In such a shitty situation you still see the humor in things. And you incorporated it so well in the poem. Short but speaks volumes with a twist of the funnies.

Excellent
WOW, not everyone. Hope all is ok with you,

great
I agree full heartedly with your little poem here. To be truthful at times I could fit in that category. But I reckon we all are guilty at some point. Good luck in the contest. Jacki -
you are right people are assholes, but you do notice the light at the end of that tunnel right?

p.s. speaking of paranoia...that pic you used brought on a minor panic attack (really!). not sure why...got such a claustrophobic feeling...kind of reminds me of an old hospital corridor...perhaps that is why! -
Hmmm...interesting...smiles...thankyou for entering my contest. Good luck! Dari xx

Dear Gregg,
Am I to assume that your painting didn't go well?
This is a succinct summary of the human race which is hardly contemporary as arseholes (or assholes) have abounded and multiplied since time immemorial. And I have just been told I am another one!!!
Regards, Hugh. -
Well, you might find me raising my finger in agreement (so as not to be noticed).
