Through The Eyes of the Beholder

It’s a sad day in paradise,
Watched my youngest brother die,
Never knew it would come to this,
Had so much going for him but lost it all,
Saw the cuts on his wrist but never mentioned them,
Maybe it was right not to speak,
I know god will take care of him,
But still I miss his whisper,
Miss his kiss goodnight,
Wish he were here to tell me he loved me,
Had so much faith, but it was only fate,
The worst got to him,
A child with so much passion,
His heart burning for the touch of love,
Nobody answered his questions,
In the misery he’s left me,
I hope he understood,
He was too good for this generation,
I love you,
Wish I said it sooner…

Author notes

The Poem is about a brother looking back on his younger brother who has commited suicide. Just a made up situation, just some feelings he might've felt. Somethings he could've done but never did, things he could've said, but kept the doors close.

It's a bit off the deep-end. Platonic love that's always felt a bit too late into the relationship, in this case, post-mortem. I like it however, I'm sure you could elaborate more perhaps adding fictional experiences the brothers had that cause the older brother to remember just how well they'd spent moments not to mention the unforgetable hatred he could have had for his silly desicions. There are stages to those observing the death of family and usually greaving and hatred are part of them. Check out some philosophy about those that have to recover from the shock of death, especially their brothers. I'm sure you could write more that just love mate, theres more to it.

Oh wow... you've painted a perfect picture here of what really would have happened if this was true. I mean, how the older brother would have felt. This is powerful.. It is truly one of the best poems I have ever read EVER in my whole exsistance. It made me like, cry my eyes out. Like, wow.. i'm so speechless. you're one heck of a poet, especially writing this when it ISN'T based on expierence. I'm blown away.
