Even 7 years later, my words still ring of truth!
A tragedy has happened in our United States,
A major attack, now sealed in all our fates.
So much devastation...................!
A very trying situation...............!
Not only the loss of many great landmarks,
But a loss of life , now breaking our hearts.
My heart is filled with sorrow and utter dismay.
How could this had happened at the start of the day?
There is no fix, no way to mend this pain,
Our trust was broken; never will it be the same.
Yet we will band together, united, one and all!
America...! Stand up! Forever we will stand tall.

I wrote this the day after the 911 incident. As soon as I heard the news I was praying. P prayed for the families of the innocent and the families of the terriost. Seems good and bad lost in this battle. There is no winner.

Hmm..i wonder how many of these contests/poems are circulating through the AP Survey. Yours definately stands out.
The background and rhyme was great. Standing tall..I love it when people end their poems with the title of the piece!
One suggestion, when using this type of backgrounds, try to use a different color font for the main text..just because the colors really don't go together..its hard to read for me, 13, and even harder for or older poets on this website!

The government had many many warnings it was to happen and did nothing. If you read up on all the questions surrounding that day, you would be horrified, both at what the government knew, and what they did (or rather, didn't) do. I appreciate your sentiment though. It was a truly horrible thing to happen.

Another day in history that I remember exactlly what I was doing and can account for my every movement.
