Hope and Freedom
On a sunny bright September morn
In the year Two Thousand One
Two towers crumbled to the ground
The war had just begun!
They thought they had us on our knees
Instead we stood up strong!
There're two more towers they can't see
With those we can't go wrong!
One's the tower of Hope!
The other is Freedom!
We cling to these we won't let go
No matter what they do!
The Tower of Hope!
The Tower of Freedom!
Two pillars strong and true!
The eagle flies on freedom wings
He soars steadfast and true
Our flags are raised with bursting pride
Of red and white and blue
Our faith in GOD will lead us through
The darkness and the pain
'Cause in the end we will not lose
America will reign!
The Tower of Hope!
The Tower of Freedom!
We cling to these we won't let go
No matter what they do!
The Tower of Hope!
The Tower of Freedom!
Two pillars strong and true
A Lady we call LIBERTY
Stands tall in New York Bay
She stands for peace and welcomes all
She turns no one away
A Bell that stands for LIBERTY
Will ring out loud and clear
We'll stand our ground we won't give up
We'll never live in fear!
We have the power of HOPE!
The flag of our FREEDOM!
We'll cling to these we won't let go
No matter what they do!
We'll pray for our HOPE!
We'll fight for our freedom!
Two pillars strong and true!
Many gave their lives that day
They're HEROS one and all
America will not forget
Their patriotic call!
That day will live in infamy
The day of Nine One One!
We all are bound by brotherhood
Together everyone!
Hold on to the HOPE!
And cling to the FREEDOM!
We lift our voices loud and strong
We hold our heads our heads up high!
The Tower of Hope!
The Tower of Freedom!
They're there for you and I..
They're there for you and I!

wow a sad reflection of what America used to be until George Bush fucked it up, America now is a country of fear, we follow that dumbass blindly and he leashes us with rumors of terrorism and bullshit, Freedom is now a myth, as peoples rights can be destroyed based on sexual preference, religious beliefs, and ethinicity and color of skin. to bad America can never go back to how it used to be, bush's damage is to severe to reverse, very good poem on the past of america, to bad its also not the future

Sept. 11 was a horrible day for all the Americans...and this is a lovely poem about it. It's hard to write an uplifting poem about a sad topic, but you've accomplished it. Very fantastic

You managed to sift through the rubble and the pain and awaken a spirit that is bruised but none the less alive and thriving. I am not sure if I agree with all you wrote but I think your work was well written and moving.

This is a beautiful write. With 9-11 right around the corner, we are all remembering those that are lost. Be proud of your words. I lost someone dear. Pongo.

Although I don't like to read or write poetry about 9/11 or politics at this time because it seems such an obvious subject matter to chose, I have to say I really enjoyed this one. You did a wonderful job with the rhyming in this.

This is just simply fantastic... I really like it a lot. But I do love war poetry especially war poetry in support of the war... Geeze, if I could just find the inspiration to write like that I would be a happy person. But you here have summed it up wonderfully. Thank you so much for sharing your words and experiences with all of us here, and good luck in the contest.

This is a wonderful tribute to our soldiers. When I watch the war on the news it is hard to get those images out of my head. I couldn't even imagine being over there and living them. Their all heros within my eyes. Your write is just wonderful. Pen on, poet.

Together everyone!'
TOUCHE!
What a piece of literature Johnny, I was truely touched by this. We all remeber that day only too well, I still cringe at the thought of it now.
This is an awesome tribute to all the souls we lost that day and it is delivered with such moving poetic eloquence, I applaud you.
And you're so right, they may have taken two of our most prominent physical towers, but our tower of hope and our tower of strength with never be shattered.
Thankyou for this remarkable tribute.
