First year of university was so unclear to me
Teachers not knowing the structure of things
Students unaware of requirements
Classes were so hard
The fear of failing was prominent
All this was inside school hours
In the outside world, it was worse
My first time away from home
Three hundred miles was too far
A sea divided me and my family
I met the wrong people
I was badly hurt, physically and emotionally
Then I turned to a counsellor
My mind was a mess, didn't know what to do
I carried on failing, began skipping class
Lost my best friend
And now it has come to the end
What have I left?
I have a new best friend
And I'm lucky to have a love in my life
Plus, my future has been figured out
A change of course
A new start
A new, fresher mind
I feel better, stronger
And no one can take that away from me

excellent
An honest reflection of life. You express your feelings very well and give hope a chance within your life. I like your words.
"I feel better, stronger" "And no one can take that away" Well said and well written. I wish you success.. -

yeah... now I'm scared for her ^ lol she's my best friend and I would seriously get the death penalty if any one hurt her! lol great job! I love the story behind it and it was a refreshing change fromt the majorly suicidle poems that others have entered lol they're all good... but after reading 10 ... it gets a little depressing lol. keep up the good work and good luck!!!

This was a really good poem. I enjoyed how it talked about your first year in a university... lol kinda made me scared now cause i'm going off to college in a little less then 2 months. Lol oh well. I'm really glad that everything worked out in the end for you. Happy endings are always the best kind of ending. Thanks for entering. Good luck in the contest.
