Through Tragedy Comes Hope

We view what some idiot has done
We all think who is capable of such acts
Have we all forgotten the past?
Hitler, Stalin, Pilate, And Herod
Or are these less harsh because we knew
Who and what was happening.

But through all these tragedies come hope
This will be no different
We've already seen countries great and small stand behind us
All nations coming together to fight terrorism
But at what cost

Why must the most good come out of the most grief?
We need to realize what needs to be done before great tragedies happen

The truth is hind sight is 20/20 but we never learn. I see little hope arising from this brutal massacare. You did a great job reminding us that we must see what needs to be done to help us live in peace. Insightful write, written with wisdom and conviction.

The new generation will have to pay for harsh judgement in this war, we will have to rebuild and be wary of everything around us because things seem to be getting worse and worse by the hour.
As for the poem, I like the fact that you point out we underrate our past and act like ninnies whenever something out of the norm happen. History has taught us over and over again but we never learn
