Victory Song(version 2)

At some point I’d forgotten

That a seed will sprout regardless of what the birds have to say.
Breaking the soil after months of fighting
And that quarter inch screams victory.

(At some point I’d forgotten)

That the sprout knows its destiny from the beginning,
And wind
storms
and starvation combined
can do nothing
but create details on the petals.

Author notes

I just needed to write something...anything really. And this is what came out. Its personal I guess..either way, not intended to be anything special. Thanks for taking the time to read it

    Brilliant

The word 'victory' is explained in many ways by this poem. Brilliantly clever.

Agreed. The quote at the end threw me. Other then that I thought it was well done. I find we don't often celebrate the little things, but when we take the time to look at them we realize how special they are. Thank you.

Oh, I like this. Rather special, despite intentions, apart from the last line (a quote which has long puzzled me).
But the rest - hopeful, lovely, special.
