Life's Path

Journeying down the eternal path
Knowledge surges through youthful minds
Absorbing the storm’s overflowing rain
And the sun’s radiant light
Walking on a road with different textures
Ridged, smooth, and bumpy
Times of trial
Bring determination
Events of happiness
Tunes of melodic laughter fill the air
Accompanied by glowing smiles
Moments of sadness and depression
Come with tears and pain
Yet transmit wisdom and growth
Youth is the metamorphosis of humanity
Growing through stages
Eventually spreading glorious wings to fly

Author notes

Had to write a poem for my English Honors class, very mediocre, but I'm really down lately not to mention I haven't been in the mood to write-- this is supposed to be my 'reaction' to "There was a Child went Forth" by Walt Whitman.  Please comment- I appreciate it

WOW!! You never cease to amaze me, honestly, you have yet again outdone yourself and I am in awe of your incredible talent.

Descriptions are lovely, analogies are so insightful, and you have really explained yourself beautifully. Nothing more I can say but perfection.

Take care, and keep writing (I was so excited when I saw you had something new hehe)!!!!!
