A great tragedy
has happened
on this day
all the people
that passed away
as the sky suddenly
turned grey
now we await to see
what the president
has to say
nothing anyone can
say
can make the families
of those who passed
away
forget about the loved
ones they will miss
everyday
some were lucky their
loved ones walked
away
but for others this day
will eat away at
their hearts
everyday
just knowing that they
wont be able to call just to say
"hey"
or the children who don't
understand why they
wont be able to
play
with their parents, not
even for just one more
day
just think what would u say
if a child asked u
"why didn't my mommy and daddy come home from work today"
there isn't much you can say
only that mommy and daddy had to go
away
and that someday the people who made them
go away
will pay
for what they did on this tragic
day
Author notes
well there is hope in this poem that one day we can catch the people who did this and give the families who lost someone some kind of peace but i know they will never forget bless you all and always stand tall

i would so not know what to say to a child if they asked me something like that i mean what would u say for real its so sad to think about it god how awful it must be to be the people who lost someone on 9-11

Painful write with such sad truth. What can you ever say to a child whose parent was snatched from their lives. There are no words. Wonderful insight into the emotions and grief.
