Be there no God in Heaven,
I shall rise from my own will,
be there no demons in hell,
I shall fight my anger still.
Without the love of one God,
or the hatred of many,
I shall fight my own battles,
and know joy in plenty.
What I hold inside,
is stronger than your lies,
and for ignorance,
my spirit deeply cries.
What lies beyond my death,
I'll never know in life,
and my inner harmony,
comes from my own independent strife.

The point is nicely stated in this. You portray how much your own, individual beliefs mean to you, stating that one does not have to follow by exact specifications within a certain religion. It shows that you are not afraid to express and use the free will that we are all given, no matter what may lie after the boundaries of life or what deities (or lack there of) may exist in this world. You show that it is a person's individual beliefs and inner strength that carry them through life with strength, no matter what higher power may exist. Great subject and conveyance of it.
