In Tribute...

In the autumn of our lives
often we are but a mere shell
          of our former selves…

A great lady has gone forth
    one whose love for life
          was unsurpassed…

Her strength shown forth
    within all who knew her
          and lives within us all…

Well traveled though out the world
yet, with a heart that always stayed
          close to home…

She worked hard all her life
    yet, enjoyed the simple things
          most of all…

Her children, and later,
    her grandchildren,
knew the true meanings of love…

She has now gone
to join her great love of life
for he has waited for her all this time…

We come here now,
    not to mourn a death,
          but to celebrate a life…

One which holds meaning
    above all else…

A heartfelt tribute to a grand Mom Mike. Always sad to hear of a passing over but I can remember the night my mom lay in her casket for visitation. Everyone long faced and sad, some sobbing until one person made a cheerful comnent about one facet of her life. It was like a dark curtain had been raised and joy filled the room as each told a happy story of what they remembered in her life. We were making so much noise, I went to the door and apologized to one of the Directors but he told me that he was enjooying it all immensely. I am 81, and will be meeting your mom soon. Great tribute write Mike, jean

Like I said, Mike, to lose your mom, I cannot imagine, and especially for a guy like you....as a good Man can only come from a good Mom.

Well done and I am sure she loves it as she loves you.

    This comes with Love,
    Sarah

What a wonderful tribute to your Mom! It must have been written through tears, but they serve as a cleanser for the pain that accompanies a loss. I'm sure she was honored by your words.
