You came into my life.
So beautiful, so pure
Only person to ever touch my soul
New hope born to a grim existence.
Incomprehensible love, so overwhelming.
Someone so small owning me from the start.
Moving me to new strengths,
Youth's innocence mended my heart.
I can't imagine how it would be
Never having you in my life.
Searching so long for answers
Patience rewarded in form of a child.
Incredibly simple ways to grow,
Reason instead of rant,
And hug instead of hit.
The bests lesson that
I could ever possibly learn.
Openly loving, and allowing love to be returned
Now I know what life is about.
Invaluable lessons given to me,
Nourishing my growth.
Love making me open my mind,
I can't believe the blessings I'm given,
For every day is a day that I get to
Enrich myself, to help my son become a great person.
Author notes
I was a mess before I had him... and when I had him, and that love overpowered me, I knew I had to get myself together and take care of him.

It takes a life changing event to understand many things and he changed it for the good. A beautiful tribute, you should do a scrap book of your poems for him I am more than sure he'd love it

*is shocked* An acrostic that's actually good? It can't be!
Actually, it is. This made me smile. To hear how great your love is for your son makes me feel good. It's a comfort to know there are others out there who believe in the power of love... whether it's friendship, family ties, romantic love, or the amazing feeling of having a child of your own.
God bless,

BEAUTIFUL
Beautiful... it's one of the most touching love conquers all poems... i had to blink to make sure i wouldn't tear up.... I love the message. Good luck -
I LOVE this poem, the message it sends out loud.Extremely loving and warm poem for your child who is a certain way savior of your life, making it all worthwhile.Good luck in the future and my applause goes to you for this one also.

Fabulous
One of my favorite songs is Nancy White's "Mommies have a secret" on her Momnipotent album. It's about how before you have children, you don't know what the attraction is, and when you do, you can't express the love that makes everything worthwhile. This is only a problem for people who are not poets of your calibre!
You have described my feelings of parenthood very well. My children have brought strength out of me, and self-sacrifice from my selfish heart. Parenthood is a great responsibility and a greater joy. The picture is priceless!
-
Awwwwwwww this is too sweet!!!!! OMG I didn't want to cry today...(at least, not again)...but I feel the tears welling up in my eyes...beautiful acrostic!
-
Not much to say..other than beautiful piece of work. Best thing I've read in a while. Very touching as well.

This is an amazingly great story. Isn't it just weird how much true and pure love can change a person? Excellent write.
