Empty Vial

Missing image
Chasing nimble and numb-
for who's to succumb
to the measure and maze
of ye oft-faring craze?

None for maids after noon
with the now-empty spoon,
naught as well for the cat
who fell just... like that!

Author notes

Inspired by another poem by "Chasingtheday". ARrrrrrrh...Thanks bud.

NOTE: This does NOT advocate drunkeness..ha!

    Spill Ink

    Spill ink and twist me
into the crazy shape of love
as I chase the day's madness.
    Gather up the quiet folds
    which slip in the unique spirit;
    high wired individuality.
    Smile out scattered thoughts
    that break cold knuckled frowns
    with flaps of feathered motion.
Here I will sit and wrap up
    the trails of language
    and create origami shapes.

    Cat's Can Not Fly

    The pigeon
    blinked
    menacingly
    and flapped
    a wing teasingly.

    Fur rose on
    the back
    of the cat,
    little growls
    in the throat
    danced through
    the open window:
    just a crack
to the let the air in.

    "Come on",
    cooed the pigeon
    as feathers ruffled.
Up, up and out now - splat!

I needed a laugh and that's what I got reading this. Great work. It's cute and simple. It's amazing how great a poem can be when you just let go and have fun. Great work here. I enjoyed reading your other work as well. Best wishes!
