Hardened
by so many years of hurt
too much pain
I thought I couldn't bear
I never in my life
dreamt
that someone so small
could make such a huge difference
But you did
My beautiful boy
the light in my eyes,
life in my heart,
and blood in my veins
You make me see
how much more there can be
and how much other things
do not matter at all
I never realized that
good grades on report cards
or defeating the next level of Mario
would make me so happy
I find myself repeating words
that as a child I could never understand
Trying my best to see that the foundation I lay
is strong enough for you
Being a mother is a fulfillment you will never get from anything else
and you could never fully understand it by someone else's words
A kind of love that I never knew existed
and it has made all the difference
by so many years of hurt
too much pain
I thought I couldn't bear
I never in my life
dreamt
that someone so small
could make such a huge difference
But you did
My beautiful boy
the light in my eyes,
life in my heart,
and blood in my veins
You make me see
how much more there can be
and how much other things
do not matter at all
I never realized that
good grades on report cards
or defeating the next level of Mario
would make me so happy
I find myself repeating words
that as a child I could never understand
Trying my best to see that the foundation I lay
is strong enough for you
Being a mother is a fulfillment you will never get from anything else
and you could never fully understand it by someone else's words
A kind of love that I never knew existed
and it has made all the difference

This is so poignant and touching, so much emootion is expressed here that only a mom could beable to come close to expressing it this well. It so perfectly expressed it make me ache for this kind of understanding...excellent

Motherhood is a grand thing. It is something all mothers should enjoy. The littlest things can make a big difference. Like you said; good grades or defeating a game of Mario. Children are a precious gift. Fantastic job.
