thats a really special haiku. i love how you started it with 'wet nose' and that you used the dog background, it really suits. dogs are so part of our lives and become very much like human friends. i remember all the dogs ive had, they helped me lighten up, and when things were intense for me growing up, i always had the dog as an excuse to escape all the stuff that was going down. they definetley capture childrens hearts, but also adults as well. theres just a something about them that opens up our hearts i think, well done, great poem

this is really sweet. Ever since I was 4 or so, and my parents brought home a psychotic chihuahua named Mitzi, I have been a dog person. You captured not only the feeling of a childhood friend, but the happiness such a friend can bring to a child's heart. Outstanding! Joshua

Awwwwww this makes me want a dog...but I'm more of a cat person!!! It reminds me of seeing my son play with the kitty...and trying to pull her tail - poor thing!
