Frail

Foreign Language of optimistic politicians
wanting to make a better future for the new generation.
Sceptics who wear a disguise.
Hiding their true identity from the poor.
Only the wealthy survive.
It's a love hate war.
Survival of the fittest,
Natural selection.
Only the young and strong will survive.
The old merely pass through as unidentified images.
New Buildings replace those that have been condemned.
So frail the old that it shall collapse into dust.
Abandoned,
Left out in the cold.
Suicide,
Or drug related deaths.
Murder on the doorsteps nationwide.
Happiness no longer exists.
Sadness,
An abyss that grows and grows,
Sucks you in then spits you out.
Children have to pay the price.
Grab a ticket.
Wait in line.
Getting a taste of your own medicine
Won't taste very good.
Society has its own Civil War.
Welcome to the Battlefield.

this is a very powerful poem and such a sad topic too, those of us who are getting on a bit will relate to this poem because it is now a young persons world with no room for sentiment anymore. a great poem and the content is rather touching too.

In this line 'Foreigne Language of optimistic politicians' 'Foreigne' is 'Foreign' I believe.

In this line 'Happiness nolonger exists.' 'nolonger' I feel should be 'no longer'

Ah, a twist of lemon with one's lime.

A good piece that you have written here.

I liked your poem very much, I was curious about the spelling of the word Foriegne? I have not seen it spelled that way. Your writing says so very much, more than most will see. Being part of the "military scene" for over 20 years I see more than I want to. I see a different side of it. There is a big difference from being very patriotic and political. Great write, gal!!!!
