This fits the contest criterion as it answers my two questions 'Who do you think God is' the picture shows that and 'why do you believe' would be the revelations I think.

It's in the list of possibilities.

After a Sunday of being filled to the brim with the Holy Spirit all day, seeing my young heroin addict friend get baptised, a week of visions and marvels and the love of God exploding within me and because I've prayed deeply for you in the past this is the icing on the cake of my Sunday!!!
The cherries in the pie, the rings round Saturn and the raising of the dead... Go fly around the universe...

    this is very pretty.

Its religious without making me gag

and its spiritual without being lame or cliche.

And the picture suits it perfectly.

    soul up-lifting

Few words reveal a world of things especially of the spirit, in a special style!Faith and Hope help us earthlings trudge our 'Road to Heaven on Earth'!An inspirational write doubtlessly that is quite soul up-lifting and divine that is reinforced aptly by a befitting art in the background! Excellent write that's soul-wise!

Sometimes faith is the only thing that keeps us going. Day in and day out. I know at least for me; if I didn't have faith I would fall into a depth of dispair so deep I would never see the light of day. I really needed to read a poem like this today. Thank you Greg.

    Hugs,

What if we never had any faith? What happen we are just one of those constant mortals that toll in and day out not believing in anything at all because they are afraid to trust or to care about anything?

    Another beautiful write.

I'm very much in agreement with that, Liz ..it's the human condition ...we can't help but have faith ..even ..even if we do lose it sometimes.

not sure that we ever truly stop believing
we let our faith get lost sometimes
when living (and trying to live) gets in the way
amazing how quickly the feelings return
    once we allow them to
    beatiful piece gregg

    Well done

Cross me - bless me. The idiom is "seeing is believing", but you have it right, that believing is necessary for seeing. This is thought provoking.

That believing process takes a while sometimes. It's amazing how easily we can lose our faith ..all it take is feeling alone when we are afraid ..and we have a tendency to believe there is nothing out there to protect us.

I don't know if finding faith is really something recently coming back to you..but if so, I'm glad to read you're finding it. I don't care what label people give to their faith ..we all need it ..whether it is Christianity, Buddhism, Wiccan ..etc... we all have to have something to believe in ..so when times get hard, we know we aren't alone.

It is a challenge to pick out these contests and write something in an hour to a specific form...usually I shy away because I don't want to make a fool of myself, but lately I have become brazen and have said 'Go for it Gregg...you can do it, even if it is crappy, at least you are trying...', and form poetry and I have never gotten along before because I was very uneducated, now that I am enrolled in my Masters, I am having more confidence with these, although it is hard to get a subject or theme -- practice will come in handy here -- (a very good one, as you know from my library) to pull off a good winner.

I like this. The idea of believing once again is a welcome thought, and makes me want that. The form appears to be correct. Thanks for entering and contributing to my cinquain addiction
