Name That Kitten! (A Nonet )

Missing image
by Gregg Rowe

Nurse Haylay needs our help to name her

cat.  I suggest two names up for

grabs.  Teague or Jinx: who lies and

purrs by your feet while you

work at your desk - - pay

homage to the

small aid who

feeds your

muse

Author notes

Teague:  Ir,  Gaelic:  'Bard' 'poet' (Male Kitten)

Jinx:  Latin:   'Spell'  (Female Kitten)

Names are taken from my Baby Book of Names.  Since I don't have kids, I create them in my stories.

Nicely done Gregg, the second part of this nonet is very smooth and an excellent description for the giver of muse.
I liked reading this, it's good the see the nonet (a much under used form) being used.
They're two good suggestions for names too.

    Good luck with the contest.

Ok. If this is a nonet you have two lines in the wrong places. "up for grabs. Teague and Bard:" 6 syllables. "poetic names for stroking" 7 syllables. Switch the lines and your poem will still make sense and a true nonet it will be.
    Excellent name suggestion BTW.
    God bless,
    Absinthe
