Emperor Bush

"I wanna be president when i grow up, just like Daddy"

You were born in the wrong country,Emperor Bush,
you would have made a better German or a Russian.
You've totally missed the point of what this country's all about,
and your policies have left us all a-blushin'

You cut funding for the poor, you give tax breaks to the rich;
You're a Republican Robin Hood in reverse!
Your "faith-based funds" are an attack on religious rights,
and your Military budget is a curse.

Your so-called "Patriot Act" is a terrifying thing.
Its scares me more than any terrorist.
in the name of "security" you take away our freedom.
and you grip us in a fascist iron fist.

You failed to find bin Laden, so it's time to hit Iraq,
or was that just to vindicate your dad,
or could it be your big-oil backers wanted Arab oil?
Will they build you a statue in Baghdad?

You think that you are moral because you suck up to the church
and say that gays and lesbians should not wed,
Why don't you take a good hard look at sins of your own life,
and keep your sexual issues in YOUR bed?

"No child left behind" is Orwellian doublethink;
you have a funny view on education.
To take funding from the public schools that clearly need it most
is not a way to build a smarter nation.

One thing I can assure you, mighty Emperor Bush,
You've made yourself a president to remember.
but do not get too comfy in that Oval Office seat,
because we're kicking your ass out of it in November.

Thanks for this... you've really hit the nail on the head with your critique of his actions! So, so true- an insightful and relevant poem... I'm sure I'm not the only one counting down the days before he'll finally leave the rest of the world alone. You know what hurts? Even if Bush WAS elected to rule his own country and his own citizens, shouldn't he be limited to that? Australia (that's my country) is sending OUR men to fight AMERICA's war. It's citizens of other countries who are rotting in Guantanamo Bay. And it's innocent civilians in Iraq who are literally being torn apart by Bush's so-called smart bombs.Excellent piece, great use of rhyme and an almost 'storytelling' flavour, I really enjoyed this piece and agree with the sentiments you have expressed. Thanks for entering, and best of luck in the contest.

The rhyming in this is outstanding. I've never seen anyone rhyme something effectively and appropriately with "Russian". But nevermind that. This poem rocks. There's a reason you were one of the first people on my favorites.

    very good

Well on can only hope his ass is gone in November. We were just talking about him yesterday and I mentioned how I longed for the days of Clinton. Say what you want about him but I laughted a lot in those days. Since little George has been in office I'm paying over $2 bucks for a gallon of gas and I'm not laughing any more.

None of the things he has done should come as a surprise to anyone. He's a concervative republican who came to Washington with his daddys GW1 war machine, hoping to launch number 2. It was fate. Fuckers.

Like this poem and like that Republican Robin Hood in reverse. Good luck in the contest.

You're a Republican Robin Hood in reverse!

I don't think I could have stated it any better myself. I love your views, your rhyming, everything! Unlike a few opinions I've read in the past, I'm glad yours actually has factual basis instead of either "blah blah blah Bush sucks" or some ridiculous out of proportion fact. Anyway, this was enjoayble to read, and I love your style.. bravo, and good luck

Well, there seems to be a lot of oppoenents to George W. Bush. I have never been a fan of him. I think his policies pretty much suck, and he's been a failure as a president. So, I can pretty much agree with everything that you've said. Well spoken! Keep on preaching the good fight!

See you at the voting booth in November

Bump bumpty bump right to the curb? Yikes... I guess this means you will be voting and campaigning for somebody else to accomplish your goal next November. Government for and by the people and freedom of speech in this lovely country of America.

Personally I don't get to tied up in politics.. (Or at least I didn't before Bush) Isn't it amazing how one man can ruin an ENTIRE nation??
I read in the paper a few days ago.. a theory of the USA becoming a third world country on the next 20 years or so.. Thats a scary thought.. I think I may move to Canada...

this was a truly inspiring poem and an eye opening read.. I enjoyed it and GOOD LUCK in the contest

Haha. This was awesome! The last stanza was good, but this one got me the most:
"Your so-called "Patriot Act" is a terrifying thing.
Its scares me more than any terrorist.
in the name of "security" you take away our freedom.
and you grip us in a fascist iron fist."
Funny how the Patriot act takes away the very rights it was meant to protect, huh? Well, good luck. You have a good peice here.
