I went to the doctor to see why I tick
He said it was obvious, "You are love sick."
"I can tell by your eyes you have been smitten.
It is by a love bug you have been bitten."
I groaned and gasped, "Can you help me?"
"Get rid of this feeling of being empty."
He said, "There's only one cure for your disease.
That quickens your pulse and weakens your knees."
"The touch of a woman is what you've been missing.
A large dose of hugs and plenty of kissing."
I asked him, "Doc are you quite certain?
This prescription will stop me from hurtin."
He nodded his head then he replied,
"What you need son is a woman by your side."
I asked him once more, "Will I recover?"
"Yes," he explained, "Take one woman and love her."
Now I patiently wait for this miracle drug
I hope I can find a woman's kisses and hugs
The prescription he wrote I needed to fill
When you came along, you fit the bill
Kisses and hugs you gave me plenty
The doctor was right I feel better already
Til I found you on insanity I bordered
You were just what the doctor ordered
For me a woman keeps the sickness at bay
Her hugs and her kisses are needed each day
The woman I found is like no other
She cares for me and I dearly love her

This has humor
and as everyone knows love has a wonderful sense of humor. Make sure you hold her tight and give her all the hugs and kisses she needs ('tween you and me ladies suffer from it too) I love the sweetness to this it shows that you cherish the little things that aren't so very little. -
Ah ha! Found one...
I love this and agree wholeheartedly with you physician! LOL A man needs a woman and a woman needs a man. It's simple arithmetic. Nature says so. Excellent. I see you came on the scene with expert rhymes. Loved It!
Always ♥

truly right, love is the best medicine :-) you have so much wonderful poetry, I don't know how I'm ever going to get through it all!! but I'm champing at the bit after each one to read the next. It's no wonder your book got published. this poem has a great rythm, occasionally I had to reread some lines to make them fit properly. I like the humorous approach to love, a bit like a doctor doctor joke but with a very sweet ending. fantastic.

it rocked
i can so relate i just got over my last boyfriend this is a great poem -
What a great piece. It is cute and sincere and filled with what life is really all about. What a great tribute to the one you love too. Your humor in this piece is soft and gentle and it leads the reader to the eventual meeting with your miracle drug really well. I am so glad I am on a mission to read your work today!!!

Your poem is entertaining and romantic at the same time. I enjoyed reading the story about the meeting of this woman. Your words express your feelings about her and what she does for you. Very nicely done!
-
excellent
To me this writing is so deep into a soul that longs for the true love of a woman. I myself can identify with these words & this poet has hit the nail on the head. A man need a woman, & a woman needs a man to be complete. -
This is very heart warming and enjoyable to read. I was wondering where you were going to get that prescription filled. Would have been a large bag. Nice writing and flowed very smoooooth.

Another good piece with form, rhyme and style. Great.
Personally I would have gone for slightly tighter rhyming like this
I asked him, "Doc are you quite sure?
This prescription will produce a certain cure."
and perhaps this
Now I patiently wait for this miracle drug
I hope I can find a woman to kiss and to hug
But your versions worked for you so ignore or not as you wish, after all you managed recover and love her.

Agree with all those above. This is a delicate and humourous poem which describes love in a beautiful way, as something we all search for. You made me smile and feel warm inside, as though there is a reason...Thank you. x

So I get to post right after Master Dragon, eh? Looks like I'm still alive, so he must not have really had too much of a problem with the contest! lol! I thought that this was a very beautiful poem. Maybe it's conceited, but I like to think that, from his actions, that Master Dragon feels the same way as the ending of this poem. Very beautiful and full of love. Many thanks for entering this poem!

Hiya Leo...this is so sweet, flawless flow of rhythm and rhyme. When I think of what would make one happy, I believe this is the most difficult to find, at least to last more than a day.
Lovely.

This was a pleasure to read. Truth with a delightful touch of humor. Those darn love bugs are worse than the bed bugs! I particularly liked your opening lines because the reminded me of a line by the great Winnie the Pooh, "He's been bitten by a smitten!"
Thanks for sharing and auditioning!

Hmm... I feel like I've read this (or something similiar) in a email chain letter type dealy... If it's an original - that can be taken as a big compliment. Whatever I remember reading, was great. And this is even better. Good for Hallmark!
Sweet and *ahh* love!

Ahhhh.... Love
Cool poem. Such light flow on the take of love. And I love it how you refer to a scene where you go to the doctor to talk about the emptiness you feel because of the lack of love of a woman you don't receive...
This piece was all right, it was good
