Okay this is not meant to be a poem its more an understanding for you the reader what Beat is: I have seen many people ask this question and so I have decided to do some research.
Beat is a demonstrative social stance directed towards the government that was also sometimes called "the Establishment". The name "Beat" was coined by writer Jack Kerouac in the late 1940's, But became more common about the time that writers like himself, Allen Ginsberg and Lawrence Ferlinghetti were beginning to get noticed. It quickly became a slang term after World War 2, meaning "exhausted" or "Beat Down" and provided this generation with a definative label for their personal and social positions and perspectives.
So if you know someone who wants to know what Beat is direct them to this
