I left a piece of me in the parking lot
The day was windy and very, very hot
Perfume lingers upon the clothes of that day
Its sweet smell enticed me home all the way
Soft hair caressed my face as our lips met
Tasting the extra on your tongue sooo wet
The green starburst in the center of your eyes
The blue ringing the outer rim held my sighs
Feeling your fingers dance through my hair
The small of your back mine traced with care
Tightly holding your body close so to mine
Loving the feel and your smile was divine
These feelings I treasure within my being
Never shall I forget that day your face seeing
The day was windy and very, very hot
I left a piece of me in the parking lot.

I truly thank you for the glowing comment, even though at times I wonder if I do show all that I would like to, to those that I love. I am touched that you enjoy the same past time as I, for I have always enjoyed watching people in public places. Seeing them express themselves and wondering about thier social structures.....lol.
I have to tell you this though it may detract from the sincere and tender things you have written about the couples you observed. I was getting into my truck in a walmart parking lot when I saw an elderly couple opening the trunk to thier car. The gentleman was bending over to place the bags down into the trunk and the lady, very casually poked the gentleman in the rear with her hand and I thought he was going to jump into the trunk.......lol. Oh I was rolling, laughing with tears in my eyes as he regained his composure and looked around to see if anyone had saw what just took place. This couple was in thier eighties at least and I couldnt believe what I had just saw until I heard my buddy say "did you just see that?"........lol. People..............lol -
Yeah, you are very correct with the small things leaving a significant impact on your life. Thats the things I usually reflect upon when my mind starts to wonder around in its spacey container.....lol. I appreciate the comment and thank you for having a read through this write. Take care.

To me it speaks volumes of eachs cultures, watching their actions that is. I am guilty as charged about the peeping parkinglot person, I cant help it, I have always enjoyed watching people. I especially like to sit on a bench in the mall and watch them come by. Any type of person you want to see, with any type of mannerisms stroll down the aisle....lol. Even some you dont want to see.....lol.
You are too kind with your words of praise and I do appreciate them. Thank you for reading through this write galfalfa. Take care. -
he shines
Sounds to me like someone's a parking lot peeper -ahhhhh ..haaaaa! Your secret's out
I can't really say that I'm a people watcher - they make me sick mostly ..crowds - i hate them and avoid them. You have a real gift with words HammeR..another brilliant gem! Thanks for sharing this!

Nah it was about a couple in a parking lot one day that I got a chance to watch. You can always tell about the extra chewing gum becuase it is a fruity color green or at least I can tell by its color. Thanx for stopping in and having a read through this and thanx for the comment. Take care

This poem was very intersting. Is this about your wife? It is very sweet. Perhaps the extra should be Orbit lol...

Thank you Ann for stopping by and having a read through my write, I appreciate it. It is times like these that I seem to remember so vividly, I can be doing some work or reading a book and bam it just pops into my mind and I think of that moment and it makes me smile.
I hope that the seatbelt doesnt bring back bad memories but rather the good times that you and him shared in your relationship. The sense of smell is a powerful reminder of things or different times in our lifes.
You are welcome to stroll through all of my writes and I hope you find yourself with a smile at the end of your browsing. Take care and thanx for the comment. -
This is a delightful treasure. I love the "real" picture. A wonderful reminder of how special we can make any moment. Being a recently div female...one of life's little sweet discoveries is...the seatbelt on the passenger side of my car smells like his cologne.
This piece was very artfully done, and I must come back and read more...rest assured, I will.

Thanx for the input on the parking lot scene. I am sure there will be others that would feel the same way as you. It never seems to amaze me what people will do in public, but then again one never knows the feelings that are going through those peoples mind at the time. I appreciate the comment and hope you enjoyed the write. Take care.

I really enjoy watching people as they stroll around ablivious to my scrying eyes. I know what you mean about the whole stories unfolding before you as you watch each of the couples. We have an airport but the only airplanes we have that fly in and out are crop dusters.......lol. Im just a tad bit rural and like it........lol. I am glad that you enjoyed it and I appreciate your comments. Take care.
-
always interesting to do as john said....people watching
i try to imagine what lives are like...whole stories created in my mind, in a matter of moments. airports are a great place to people watch...prefer arrivals vs departures...have done too many painful good-byes at airports, don't care to watch others.
digressing...sorry...
enjoyed reading this one...well written and evocative

I can just imagine all the sights you got to see working at the casino. I have often wondered what the night life would hold for the couples that frequent a casino. I am glad that you enjoyed reading this write kjack, I just hope that I did the couples justice with my words.......lol. Thank you for sharing your comments with me and take care.

I do love to people watch. I guess that is one thing I did like about working in the casino. I did get to see sooooo many things, especially on weekends. I would get the biggest kick out of some of the couples. This is a very sweet poem. It made me feel all goosebumpy (I don't know if that is a word) all over. It is one of those feel good poems that no matter how down you get you can always read this and it will make you feel better. At least that is what it is to me. I really enjoyed reading this. It is a very beautiful and sweet poem. Thanks for sharing this story.

Not lately Queen, or at least I dont think I have? But then again perhaps I have been........lol. I cant claim the credit for the photos, though that is something I may have to start doing so that I can capture the exact moment. I usually find them on the web to go with what I write. You are so write about the people being interesting objects to watch and learn from. I have a blast watching them. Thank you for your comment and take care.
-
excellent
Have you been spying on me?
Very sweet poem. Do you take the photo's yourself? They are very good. I loved the whole thing. I love to people watch. People are very interesting creatures you just never know what they will do next. Great poem.

Thank you Aimee for the lovely comment. I have never been one to do this sort of thing either, just so bold and daring to be out in the middle of wide open space and kissing and carressing one another. I can just imagine the feelings that would course through each of the people. I think I would do it as well if I felt really comfortable with the other person. I dont know about sweet and loving, I always thought along the lines of sour and grumbling.........lol Thank you for reading through my write and leaving such a beautiful comment. I appreciate you very much. Take care. Hugz

I think you said a whole mouth full about the people watchers macandrew. Ya reckon I could get budwieser or miller to pick up that add? Hmmmm.....I may have to check into that and see if there is money to be made. I do appreciate you reading through this write and letting me know about the commercial. May have to cut you in on a %, that is if I can market the idea.....lol. Take care.
-
Hey man dont turn me in or else they may have to pry my cold dead fingers from around the stock of my rifle............lol. I dont think Charleston Heston can read all that well these days, especially stuff that is kinda mushy anyways......lol.
Well now that song business just may come to fruitation one day. Watch for me on the charts.........lol.
Appreciate ya reading through this Bohb. I would think you would have to leave something in the parking lot if you were one of the two people? Perhaps not, but I think I would if it were me.
Ix nay on the NRA nay. -
I know it is nice to see everyone expressing thier love. I will never forget the time me and my friend was in a parking lot and he said did you see that? I said no and he told me that while this older gentleman was loading up the groceries his wife poked him in the butt with her finger and he liked to have loaded up all the way in the trunk...........lmsbo! I hope that I am still that frisky at thier age. Thank you for stopping in and reading through this write. Take care.

oh boy
HR You know, I've never been the type of person to display too much affection in public but I would certainly do it!!!
Umm...yeah.
This poem will be bookmarked and saved forever because it made me smile so big that my cheeks are a bit sore. lol I love this type of poem HammeR. It's just cute, so sweet and loving just like you! I know this feeling oh so well...it's breathtaking. Excellent work.
Rock on...Aimee Jo xoxo!

very good
Very well written. Your poem was smooth and easy reading. (sounds like a beer commercial)
I think most writers are people watchers. We gather a lot of inspiration that we can tie to our own emotions for writing.
Well done.

HOT HOT HOT
Whoa....kinda sweet and puppy-like adorable. Geez...you can't write like this -- what if the NRA knew?
Actually, this is nice. I like the emphasis lines "I left a piece of me in the parking lot, the day was windy and very, very hot".
Kind of sounds like a song. -
