Tomorrow

There is a silence
where voices rang,
an empty space on
the couch.
Fleeting moments fade
away, the heat of
day to ev'ning cool.
And there lingers still
a scent of love
and cinnamon.

Though bedrooms beckon
and bodies lie, pillows
hold and blankets
conform,
Though the night sends
us on our ways, to
wait for the morrow,
We'll see the friends and
loved ones gone when
morning comes.

This is awesome! Beautifully written. The thoughts, feelings, and emotions are palpable and the reader is drawn into the mood of this piece with ease. For your first piece of poetry in several years, I'd say you've got some talent here.

    Keep up the great writing!
