These Tears of Ink and Blood

Cool autumn air whistles outside
and dances accross the windowpane.
I watch as the streets turn white with frost,
and turn away from the picture frame.

Those black-and-white grins do contradict
so heavily with my sinking heart.
The scarlet ribbons that burn my arms
emphasize that which tears me apart.

How coldly their eyes do look upon me,
This night recognizing my deepest fears -
Choking me sweetly so I may die slow,
and my eyes expell these blackened tears.

Crying out in this soundless evening,
I murder the silence with these screams -
And how my bleeding heart so tries
to see that which it could never dream.

I beg, do not force me away like this,
Frighten me away by simply your hands...
Do not break my heart with this horrid "love",
These actions that I can hardly withstand.

To hold you this close is to buckle my straight-jacket,
Your warmth so tempting, lulling me to rest:
I swallow my words, my heart locked in your grasp
And these tears wash away whatever was left.
