Why not hold a contest
Let’s add in ten good choices
Make it easy on the crowd,
But put a limit on the voices.
Write a poem about God
Well, that’s bound to get a lot,
Haikus and acrostics?
Both forms that now are hot
Tell me you’ve not won before
(Oh dear, I can’t do that)
Write a poem that is funny
Or of ANYTHING you can chat.
Write about a good friend
(This one was mentioned twice)
A death was in the family,
Your feelings would be nice.
Certainly, I’m spoilt for choice
And I can’t make up my mind
It’s not that I can’t write one
Or find some words that are kind
Just that inspiration deserts me,
I can’t pen something that’s right
So, I’ll leave this one to our friend
The one you know, PinkWhite
She’ll have a go!
