Echoes of voices from the far ends of the room alerted Stacy to the approaching figures. Her instincts were to blend into the darkness and make her way back into the corridor. Only now with the door shut she had only one other option, the double doors that were made of heavy metal now stood propped open - gave her an avenue for escape.
Turning her face to the wall she waited for the voices to fade, then slipping through the doorway, along the service paths it was a relief to find the dumpsters being tended by the shop keepers. The gulls calling outside as they grew restless waiting for their daily feedings. As the sun rises.
Welcoming the fresh air and early morning light.
No one seemed to notice her, Stacy blended in with the hurried staff.
Perhaps this would be an idea working for the resort... she shook off that idea quickly.
Worlds away from her everyday thoughts, danger seemed to linger over the early morning activites.
She made the return to her room with a reserved awareness.
Moving the dresser over in front of the panel it sealed the corridor from the interior.
Above in the study, she moved the desk in front of the side panel, sealing the room from unwanted guests or entrys.
Now she had a multitude of exits, in this one tiny room - the excitement began to rise. She knew her discovery had been unwelcomed ...it was quite unusal behavior on her part sneaking about ...what a wonderful adventure she was having, her imagination took her back in time.
Walking out onto the balcony, the morning mist from falling gently on the breeze... Mason...
Stacy reached for her cell phone ...Mason, its me...
