these chains that bind me
keep me down
trapped
alone and afraid
no way out
no one to call
these chains
tear at my flesh
my wrists
get smaller and smaller
but the chains
keep getting
tighter and tighter
these chains
drag me to hell
pulling me
down
down
deeper and deeper
into the dark
cold ground
these chains
are torture
these chains
are hell

This is really good.
Great take on the prompt you were given.
This is a wonderfully written piece, I like the way this is worded.

I like this.. Wow, never heard of a metaphor like that before.
These poems always interesting me, and you pulled this one off very well with nice imagery.

Such fierce emotion in this piece. It really pulls in and pulls you down. Very vivid images and powerful words. Great write. Check me out sometime. Maybe "Walls." - cgirl0410

Thank You for Your Entry ~
I found this lyrical and re-read it singing it softly to myself and found each line growing more in depth and strong as I did
best of luck
