This rain is cold
As at falls, tumbling down my cheeks
You can still pick out my tears
Cutting red rivulets though the crystal colour
Only when red tear hits red fabric are they lost
I blunder through the field
My shoulders wracking with sobs
Wrenching
Rending my body in two
The prom dress rips
And I curl my broken body into the rough bark
Lightning lashes
The rain stings my back
Drumming sarcastic staccato over my head
My head falls back
My sobs lessen, my red-rimmed eyes ooze
Their last red-ridden tears
The rain trickles into the corners of my mouth
The phone leaves my hand
As I curse it away from me,
Muscles creaking from effort
It disappears in the grass
You’re dumped. Sorry.
So screw you,
I stand, brush bracken from my lap
My new leaf turned, showing
New veins
The lightning lunges
The scream never leaves my mouth.
So. Screw. You.
