She set out every morning
did the Princess of the Green.
Hidden by the whirling mist
she was hardly seen.
She wore a dress of purple this day
around her feet two kittens did play.
The unbrella she carried was light
her tiney feet were hardly in sight.
Gliding along the brooks side
she found a toad intending to hide.
" Good Lady" the toad said with hesitation
"I know I am far beneath your station
but someone must love me
with out reservation.
If I am ever to live with in my station."
"Dear friend " said the Princess " you
have quiet a limitation.
I don't mind toads but you are
not among my presantions."
" Sweet miss you may remove my
curse with a single kiss."
Princess " I never thought my
fame would come to this."
Princiss " Who left you with this curse?."
Tode " A stranger in the town,
I fear he cold do worse."
Princess " I will grant you just one kiss
that will be the end of this."
The toad jumped upon the rock
the Princess kissed him lightly
what a shock.
Right before her eyes
A perfect man did arise.
The Princess bowed and offered her hand
The man filled it full of sand
" I will not take you on comand." he said
She answered "I would not take you
if you were the last man in the land"
He said " would you take back your kiss"
she answered " I would take it." with a hiss.
The man was not a fool
he did not argue with ladies as a rule.
He said "I bid you adeiu."
She answered " I hate you to"
Of those like her there were few.
