Alstroemeria – Aspiring, Devotion, friendship
Alstroemeria,
in the lily family
is as graceful
as the chromatic hues of a rainbow
sharing it's refracted light
to bring smiles and peace to others
always showing concern
and empathy borrowed
from a personal well of sorrows
that may have hindered
but never defeated
this gentle, delicate flower
reaches out to bring cheer
determined to make a difference
in a world of indifference
and doubt
ever a faithful friend
with caring, humble demeanor
is not intimidated
by the more prominent flowers
seeking to take sunlight and precious
moisture away
for their own selfish excesses
she shares and in a sacrificial way
but does it secretly
as not to bring attention
to herself
ever trying to be a blessing to others
her quest is firm
day in and out
never waivering
this flower is indeed very special
in this garden of poets
