You don't know what it's like
to be a butterfly with cliped, jagged wings.
Having people force feed you life lessons
when you could go out and learn them on your own.
You have no idea what true terror feels like.
It's more than just staring death in the face,
more than overcoming a cutting addiction.
It happens when you wake up, scared of the ones you love.
Too afraid to ask for help, wanting love but seeing hate.
That's real terror.
You have not the slightest idea
what it means to lose your sanity.
Trying hard to remember all the things you forgot,
all the things you forgot about the One who put you here.
Driving insanity like it was nothing and
kissing sanity good-bye as you embrace its polar opposite.
You don't know what that's like.
You don't know what it's like
to have a controlling, jealous, insatible mother.
Every time you try to appease her,
try to steal a pleasing glance from her war-wise eyes,
all you get is a scolding because you didn't try hard enough.
Don't tell me what you think you know
because I don't wanna hear it.
Pity me not for if you do,
you'll find I'm more than capable
of forever hurting you.
You don't know what it's like
to be a butterfly with cliped, jagged wings.
You have not the slightest idea
what it means to lose your sanity.
If you did, you wouldn't have asked me to pen this.
Author notes
You told me to write, so I did. I just happen to do it in anger, enjoy!

I can't say i know how it feels, because only you know how you feel about that situation but I can identify with the general emotion of this poem. I really enjoyed reading this because it reminded me of who I was and the difference of that person and who I am today. Good write, I enjoyed reading this a lot.
