cat & monkey [untitled]

Cat: They're wrong when they say stick to your own race,
those of same colour fur, and same shape of face.
Monkey with monkey and cat with cat
all strict and regulated; there's no fun in that!
Let's take to the sunset and elope tomorrow!
Make this world smile, instead of frown with sorrow -
for there's so much misery, wherever we go,
let's join paws together and chase away their woe -

Oh. But, no you stupid monkey, I can't walk like that,
with one paw in the air, remember, I'm a cat!

Monkey; Fine then babeh, let us whist link our tails,
we'llst wave 'em together, aha, they'll be-est our sails.
Aarr! Whist! Whip through the ocean, I have a whim!

Cat; NO! What if I fall in? Stupid monkey, I can't swim!

Monkey; a bride who can't swim, whist, babeh, I'll be frank!
Ye're of no use to meh if yeh can't walk the plank!

Cat; But, monkey, we'll be married, I'd, I'd be your wife!
To have and to cherish, the rest of your life!

Monkey; now listen 'ere you lil' digger of gold!
i'm me own man, and i'll not me told.
i'm a pirate see, and i'll not take a wife -
psht! to have to and cherish the rest of me life.
i take to the seas, 'pon wing and a whim
and ye're no use ter me if yer can't swim.
so be gone and be garrow! i'm off to the sea!
enjoy your nine lives; yer won't be seeing me!

Cat: Oh, but Monkey, sir monkey, I can't live without you,
Oh! How shalt I cope, whatever shalt I do!
Wait! There's a sound, in the distance, I hear it in my ears,
but no! No distraction, could stop these heartbroken tears.
But wait! I scent it! Could it be ... is it MILK!
Oh darling, darling owner, and my bed made of silk!
Forget that rodent monkey, and his broken words of love.
Here I have food and comfy bedding - for me, that is enough!

This is great! I can just see those two having their conversation, at odds with each other and full of misunderstandings! Like people, I guess....A wonderful read, best wishes in the contest!

Your thing or not, you did a wonderful job and I loved it so much that it will go to the finalist list. I like the idea that you put across and the draw back to the human after being dumped by the monkey...lol!!!!!!!!!Beautifully written and holds some feeling of human emotion. Thank you so much for entering and I wish you the very best in the contest.

I like how you captured the differences in them, and how they try to go back and forth explaining the pros and cons. Well done. Cute. Blessings.

haha this is cute, it played out like a cartoon in my mind. Cat and monkey eh? Well to each their own lol. Actually this piece has a really profound message about letting others limit our hearts to one race. Great job!!
