The "After-Party"

The party has calmed, most have gone home
One sleeping man sits next to me on the couch
And another comes downstairs and looks at me
He sits on the other side of me, together we slouch
We are sitting so close my left side is warm
His hands are ice so I heat them with mine
We lay there for several long minutes
Then our hands fold and become entwined
My head lies in the crease of his shoulder
His face resting on the top of my head
I raise my head to look at him
We stare and stare, nothing is said
Our lips get closer but tremble, unsure
His hand reaches and rests on my cheek
His ring is cold and I shiver
But still unable to look away or speak
I feel his breathe on my lips
My heart races in anticipation
It is beating so hard I feel myself shake
Or lips come together in a revelation
Our bodies feel like one
Our hearts match beats
Our minds are empty
As our lips finally meet.
Emotional wreck,
I thought I would cry
But not wanting to stop
My heart knew why
I push on his chest
To end the first kiss,
But he looks at me
I feel amazing bliss
His hand on my chin
His eyes in mine
Kiss me again
It’s so divine
It is getting late,
He must return
To his occupied bed
Where he sleeps with her
He stares again
His look so gentle
Hand on my chin
It’s sentimental
He kisses my forehead
So sweet and delayed
He stands up to leave
His hands slip away
