As you lay beside me, half asleep and half awake
I listen to your breathing, soft and low,
moon and stars are chased away as dawn begins to break;
at times like these I know I love you so.
You put your arms around me as I snuggle close to you
and feel the warmth of life within your kiss,
the rising sun is painting walls in every golden hue;
at times like these I know our life is bliss.
A perfect way to start the day is feeling skin on skin
the rush of heated blood flows through our veins,
outside the world is stirring and our hearts are in a spin;
at times like these it’s love that truly reigns.
We give ourselves completely as our passions quickly rise
our bodies move as one beneath the sheet,
the climax of our loving is replaced by peaceful sighs;
at times like these two hearts with just one beat.
Rays of sun now warm the room and cast a mellow glow
I kiss the smile that spreads across your face,
the dawn has been a witness to the love we chose to show;
it’s times like these that no-one can replace.
