I hear animals singing, the varied carols I hear
The wolves sing of their lost kin
The fish sing of the pollution that’s destroying their bodies
The bears sing of the pain of the whips slashing into their flesh
The dogs sing of their drunk or violent masters beating them
The cats sing of the cold nights on the street filled with danger and dread
The birds sing of the bullets piercing their bodies and ending their lives
The whales sing of the harpoons striking their flesh and piercing their hearts
The lions sing of their lost freedom
Singing with open mouths, their painful songs
