Hey Baby Sister

Hey Baby Sister,
I'm gonna miss you so much,
When you get all grown up,
When you graduate from highschool,
And fly away so happy to be free,

'Cuz you know I'm gonna miss combing your hair,
And tickling you til' you surrender,
And hearing your sweet joyful laughter echo through the house,

I'm gonna miss those sparkling green eyes,
And your bronze pretty ringlets,
And reading you bedtime stories til midnight,

You won't need me to teach you things like how to catch butterflies,
Or how  to do handstands under water,
Or how to spell words bigger than "cat",

You'll be able to defend yourself then,
you'll be able to walk across the road,
And ride a bike without me running beside you the whole way down the street,

And even though sometimes I complain as though having to do all those things for you is a burden,
I really, really, love you!

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!
