Strecthing the muscles letting the glow of the moon flow into me,
Darkness raging inside as my eyes adjust to the black unknown.
Inhaling deeply the scent of summer nights,
Listening to the cicadas,
They are the music of the balmy air.
Taking off into the night,
Breathing labored as I find my pace,
Heartbeat rythmically beating,
Cool wind brushing gently along my body,
Skin glistening with sweat and glittering in the moonlight.
The street darkens,
My pace quickens,
The darkness is no longer friendly,
The moon disappears from sight,
The cicadas are silent,
My heart is beating erratically.
Fear clogs my throat as I search the darkness,
Eyes attempting to penetrate the dark recesses of the streets,
Ears straining to hear,
Were those footsteps?
Was that labored breathing?
Did something move?
Darkness seeps covering all sources of light,
Shadows strecth towards me like fingers,
Searching for me.
The air seems to thicken into dark fog,
Suffocating me,
Until my fear is too much and my eyes close,
Submerging me in my own personal darkness,
Sinking into a void devoid of light,
Being devoured by my darkest fears.

I like the imagery you have captured, you kinda feel your own heart race as the character's heart races.
thank you for entering, good luck

This is your best write without a doubt.
NO doubt.
And finally you cut lose those annoying colors in the fonts.
