Silence

Silence slurs and loneliness explodes
Whilst togetherness, closeness evaporate
Nakedness and passion fall away
Slowly, silently like rose petals
From a dying rose…

A flower vase filled with emptiness
Once overwhelmed by the sweet smell
Of blossoming fragrances…

Each day a petal fell without a fault or blemish to the ground
In silent seclusion turning to loneliness…

I agree in this being relatable, the imagery of your words alone speaks volumes of depth, and might I add you put it together amazingly, thank you for sharing sweetie, love ya always, Josie

  • This is so relatable. You've described the sweet feelings of new love and a dying relationship quite well. With your words you made it seem not so painful. I really enjoyed reading this piece and wish you luck in the contest.

    Interesting metaphor

Everyone always understands the bloom of love, but rarely do I see the end of a relationship compared to the death of this same flower. Nicely done. Plus it has a wonderful element of acceptance with no blame, it was just the natural course.

Feels like the entropy of existance, as we all grow old, and watch everything end, until we finally end ourselves.
I would imagine, if Caligula ever felt a softer despair in the end of his later life, he would have felt this sort of sentiment.....even evil feels sorrow.
