Epiphany

It always was this way

High above your seeming halo
already the blocks don’t fit
veering in and out the transparent cube
encircling in my cloudless advice

Never will I trust you
over anything I yearn to dream
what you gain, I’ll never know
hail to your masterful deception
eventually and inconveniently I realised
rapture is an out of body experience
earlier I should have seen the masks

Time cannot be rewinded
off-white will never truly shine

Regret has never hit this hard
understatements never resolved
nor can you force a square into a circle,

Breathing free was never this easy
utilizing my every tool
to see beneath the raging waters

And see my hidden message
words few will decipher
at last I see what was before me
you’ll see me running away.

Please tell me what you think!

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

I agree with Nic, and she has said those very words to me, as well - write towards the light. It's the only way we can find our way out of the darkness of a sorrowed heart. The difficulty with putting someone on a pedestal, even unaware, is that they always eventually fall off. Be well, Poet.

Ek sê altyd (and the people here on AP knows that): "Write towards the light..." - die seer en die mooi.

A poet writes because he/she has to write - and you do that so well.
