As I close my eyes
And say a little prayer for the day,
Your face starts to haunt me
And I just can't help but
Think of you.
Letting go of yesterday is too hard and
Tomorrow is just like a hopeless dream
That I fervently wish to finally end.
You are the thought that
Forms in my mind in the morning.
A kaleidoscope of memories --
Iridescent and colorful.
"Wishing you were here"
Is just a hopeless phrase of
Trying to keep you from going away.
Will You sleep better
If I sing to you, my seraphim?
Listen to my tears
And please don't ever fade.
And as my sunkissed eyes
Open to a new morning,
Memories of a boy in the cold summer
Just leave me vulnerable
And missing you.
