It's a game of trust, don't trust
a play of,
love, and lust
it's a game of hearing those words
spilled from others' mouths but
are they worth hearing?
It's a game of skirting too far around
your feelings. and waiting.
for what?
and i wonder what exactly you would
want from this old worn out face
and I'm wondering what could you gain, or
want to gain from me?
and all I'd like to feel is your arm around my waist
just once, your nerve to
settle down upon my hands
I could hold you down when the earthquake hits.
[clinging to hope. it is a rope
above a pit of acid. that is the gap between two
pieces of a broken heart. darkness and wonder
and a single point of light. a streetlight in
a dark alley full of
shadows and monsters.]
Take your mind. keep it straight, and
sort out what you'd
like to say cause I know your tongue is
missing, and it has been for awhile
i'd put up fliers. but I think i'm holding it.
just find your voice, let me know, and in time
I'll find mine.
