Winter

Little crescents of white
Shimmer down from the heavens
Exhibiting a glowing attitude
Upon the prior death of green
Virgin blankets cover Autumn's grave
White laces the rims of bony arms
The reaper is frozen in blue
Lost in this foreign mystic realm
Every breath turns into smoke
Exhaled from frosted lips
Purity envelops the sodden grounds
Spiraling all motivation to a still blank scene
It's a beauty all its own
That reveals miles of insanity
Into the shivering, helpless souls
The powder-faced angel guards her oasis
Hoping for her ivory dreams to be left untouched
But the delicacy of being pure
Can be forgotten and melted away
With a flaming whisper
From the inferno below

Author notes

thinking about snow already
but of course with a slightly diff. spin

    great write!

i loved the imagery, especially :"White laces the rims of bony arms". that is exactly what i've been thinking, that the trees look so bare, and you phrased that so wonderfully! i loved the picture i got in my head of the entire scene, bravo!
