(i)
Each woven word … a thunderous thread
contorting my kingdom
of clouds into clarity,
electrifying me
as you sweep
shadows from southern skylines
with tempest’s timeless touch,
rolling my rains on your tongue.
I come undone.
(ii)
When the midnight moon meanders
like a diamond drowning in the darkest sea,
you bring it to me,
and the wintry wind
woos the window
as we’re lain entwined,
rooted
in body … soul … mind;
one … naked … free.
Love is our November Tree.
(iii)
Should the feeling falter … be no more
than memory’s wave upon heart’s shore,
I will stand on sorrow’s silver scar,
garnering the granules of each falling star
the ether’s ancient eyes might seek to weep,
fashioning a pendant I shall keep
fastened tight
around my neck at night,
channelling the light
of love’s evanescence into gloom.
Reflection brightens the room.

Such beautiful vignettes. When reading, I was lost in the dreamy feeling of your words. I also enjoyed the final line in each vignette and the rhyme of of the final line in the stanza, unique touch. Thank you so much for the entry and good luck.

SO SWEET AND TENDER!!!
Your tender words bring back the long gone days when such feelings were eloquently expressed exactly this way.

Many thanks for your thoughts on this one, Puppydog. It was quite trying to write, lol. I fell in love with the pic instantly though, so had to persevere!

I knew you would do justice to this prompt, my Friend. This is contemplative, sensual, melancholy and yet, serene. I especially liked your third vignette. Good luck in Ann's contest, Scribe.

Many thanks Wanda, I'm pleased you enjoyed it. This is the first time I've written a tri-vignette, and quite enjoyed the challenge of having to tell a tale over three definite sections, rather than just having a blank sheet of paper and no idea as to how many stanzas there might end up being
I'm sure it's the stone-gatherer in you, as you mentioned before, which made the third vignette stand out! I could quite envisage you, Carol and I all scrambling about to find the brightest ones, but yet, not passing over the dullest without considerable procrastination either
