Hollywoods Rebellious Star

Missing image
Some think she was uncooperative
contemptuous sweet beauty
That glamorized the theater, stage
while she left them in a rage.

In Odet's play she was the golden girl
at random her acting a pleasure
then later she assaulted her studio
hairdresser...I have no heads or tales
changes filed without fail.

Never responding to the door bell
the hotels pass key deployed
they found her in bed
resting her pretty head.

Surrender peacefully; NO!
she gave them such a fight
but arrest her they did on that
moment as she screamed...

"Have you ever had a broken heart?"

This outspoken goddess full
of fire, fight; set an example for
all women by her own
personal plight.

I am glad that times have changed and the degree of suffrage of our women is lessened. No, it is not done by any stretch of the imagination but we have become much stronger these days. The sadness here is how we can be so misunderstood, and any aggressiveness deemed instability. I loved this and your writing makes me proud to be a fellow Thespian. Excellent! I wish you well in the contest.

The poem is beautifully tragic and made more so by the description of this woman and her plight in your AN.
    Wonderful read!

She also make a come back of sorts to acting on television a program she hosted of her own. I find her fascinating, so much was done to her that had she been a man I believe would never have happened . Thank you so much for your beautiful write.

Oh yes she was a dynamic star...my favorite movie of hers was Ms.Farmer with Tyrone Power in Son of Fury (1942). and if she were a man they would of showed her respect. I truly wish they had.....
