Let the weight of water
carry me into tomorrow's arms;
wash away this appetite for destruction
like soap against decaying skin.
Let the weight of water
become an unrelenting tide;
oppressor to those dreams of denial
that forge the fallacy of existence.
Follow the dim glimmer of light
down old forgotten pathways;
opening your mind to a higher understanding
of what it means to simply be.
Breathe deep between the lines
of antiquated conversation;
extracting all the wisdom within
and wrap yourself in that blanket of truth.
Let the weight of water,
deliver absolution
in its purest form.

kind of seems like I could sense what you were dealing with and poured this from your very soul. I am honoured that this touched you but knowing the situation I am a little saddened as well.

I really like the imagery of the different roles of water and how you applied them with progressive depth as the meaning got deeper.

Let the weight of water cleanse and renew us! Form a deeper meaning of almost rebirth. Taking in all senses from within one's self. Deliver us from absolution! Love that line.
Wonderful poem once again my friend. Good luck in your contest.
