Someone say this che-wah-wah,
but this my bitty baby doll.
Mama monkey she promise me
dolly soon as me turn three.
Me see her stand by my bed,
making noise that hurt my head,
then me think. "Wow, my dolly talk,
even wiggle when she walk."
Peoples points at me and dolly.
They say, "Looky there, by golly,
Monkey thinks that is a baby."
I know it baby, ain't no maybe.
I teach her make monkey sound.
She ignore me, chase tail 'round.
Mama say, "What is that thing!?
Why it wiggles; why it yapping?"
Me say "Mama, me turn three.
This the gift you promise me."
Mama say, "Sometimes you dumb.
That thing, it don't have no thumb."
Mama take bitty baby away.
Me cry all night and all day.
Baby sneak back in my cage.
It send Mama in big rage.
Me so happy, me don't care.
Me not know that monkeys swear!
