I pull my car into the driveway
Park and take out my keys
I can hear the laughter of my children
Long before I open the door
The warmth of home engulfs me
As I remove my shoes and come to see you
I see you turn around and smile
Happy to see me
Never the same old feeling
Always new
I hold you close in my arms
Yearning to show you through this welcoming embrace
How much I appreciate you and miss you when I'm gone
I touch the newest art work hanging from the fridge
Notes and Finger paintings expressing
Love for Mom and Dad
But mostly for Mom
It's clear why
Because you are the shining light
The glue in our family's happiness
The warrior that triumphs monsters in the closet
The healer of all bumps and boo-boos
The goddess of Love that can ignite a fire of passion
And keep it burning far beyond death do us part
A different day
I pull up into the cold driveway
Into a silent home
An empty fridge
A cold breeze
Sad and quiet children
I sit down
Completely immobilized
Remembering
The perfect world our family had found
When you were here
We miss you
Mom
Wife
Lover
Friend.

This is very beautifully and sad! It's a terrible reality to know that the one that you love is gone. I hope that this isn't true for you! I love the way that you described her in these words:
