'Neath the musty mold
valued treasures lie,
promises made in time,
that would not hold.
It's transient nature
demands its passing,
leaving sere flower
and message obscure.
Leaves of love gently curl,
wrapped in time's warp,
fragile as the monarch,
fluttering wings unfurled.
Bound in volumes closed,
awaiting the curious eye,
lie utterings of archaic ardor,
the past and present juxtaposed.

Beautiful message here, of all the value and beauty enclosed within the volumes of poetry that we read and write. I wish you all the best in the contest.
