By The Bedside

scent of the sea
salt and ice

the warmth of the spray on my skin
the sunset aglow in the distance

to alight our conversation
the divinity spreading

that was the night
you told me how you felt

and by my dying breath
you would have been

to send angels for my heart
to protect my soul from harm

i know i loved you years before
but you never knew untill now

my saviour my heart
my drug my knight

in my last minutes will you tell me
in my last seconds would you hold me

i leave the world now alone as always
but i love you now more than ever before

This is beautiful, i love how you created this picture in my head before launching into the story,
theres just one part that confused me

    "and by my dying breath
    you would have been"

i wasnt sure what you meant by that beause it didnt slow into the next stanza.
But that aside i really enjoyed reading this, you put so much emotion into it tht it made me sad, made me feel for the character.
    Well done

    Sad

I think this is a love poem, but it made me really sad. So... I dunno.
Its touching, and understandable. I'm no critic, I enjoyed the read.
